TRINA

Kia ora

I'm Trina, I was born here in New Plymouth and was raised on a lifestyle block on Egmont Road (my parents still live there).  I spent a large portion of my childhood with the neighbouring children exploring and experincing all that rural life offers.  I also spent a lot of my time in Egmont National Park.

I have three adult children and have been working in ECE most of my adult life.  I have worked in Barnardos, Education and care and kindergarten.

All of these experinces have lead me back to my love and early experinces in nature.

Ko Kawhia te moana,

ko Kinohaku papakainga,

ko Tania toku ingoa.

I grew up in Kinohaku on the Kawhia harbour, and have been influenced by the isolated, family focused, rugged coastly community. As a young family we returned to give Conner and Lee a similar start to their lives, and then moved to New Plymouth in 2001.

I have experience with Play Centre, Montessori & Kindergarten. My passion for children, community & connection led me to Nature Education and the germinating of Seedlings. I am passionate about individual creative expression & how this can be built upon as a community.

Tamariki come from all around New Plymouth and the wider community to play and explore at Seedlings.
